Hello everyone,
I hope you're well. Did you have a lovely New Year's Eve? I did - maybe drank a little too much but hey I danced the night away.
I just wanted to take some time to reflect on 2016 and think ahead to the things I'm looking forward to this year.
Firstly I want to thank you all for taking the time to read my blog, interact on social media and, of course, buying my handmade gifts. It really does mean the world to me that I can continue doing my dream job.
I do love the feeling of a new start and a new year. I love getting rid of all the bad things from the previous year, putting them to the back of my brain and planning positive things instead. In my mind 2016 hasn't been the best; we've had a lot of losses in terms of icons and heroes in the public eye, and personally a lot of friends and family have lost their loved ones too.
I always say everything happens for a reason, but when you lose someone you love it's hard to give a reason. Life teaches us many things, and sometimes the lessons aren't that great. Just try your best to always find positivity in everything you do. We only get one life so you might as well do the things you love and spread the joy in anyway you can!
Things I loved about 2016:
- I got to teach workshops at Tilly and the Buttons HQ which is so much fun and I look forward to many more to come.
- I had a really fun holiday with my other half's family in Australia.
- We had another fun filled Handmade Fair. My sister even came this year which made it even more special!
- I did something scary and went to a huge trade show to push my wholesale items. It wasn't successful in the slightest, but I'm proud of pushing myself and taking a risk.
- I've had a blast shooting craft videos with the team from Silverline Tools, it's honestly the most fun working day and they're all amazing. (Plus you all seem to like the tutorials too!)
- I've launched new personalised items and they've been really good additions to my range.
- I've learnt even more about my business.
Things to look forward to in 2017:
- More workshops with the Tilly Buttons crew! (YEY!)
- I'm teaching at The Handmade Fair, Warwickshire in the Spring with Silverline Tools! Which is a total dream come true and I'm extremely excited! My face is on the experts page on the website!! WHAT?!?
- I'll be exhibiting at The Handmade Fair in September again.
- I've got a trip to LA with my other half and sister in February! YIPPEE!
- I've got a new house to renovate and design all the interiors- Yes I know I'm going to be rushed off my feet.
- Adding to the above I'll have a beautiful new studio when building is finished!
- I'm looking forward to taking trips in our converted Camper van. I'm excited for road trips seeing more of the UK and Europe.
- I've got big plans this year for Jessalli. I really want to continue growing and progressing. This month is going to be full of careful planning and preparation.
- I'm going to be doing more videos and craft posts for you too! Watch this space.
