DIY- Geometric Clay Pendants

Friday, January 27, 2017

I love Fimo Clay, it's just so easy to use. I wanted to do a DIY on how to make some really simple geometric pendants. They make great gifts for your friends, and they're not difficult to make at all.

You'll need:

  • Fimo Clay in your chosen colours
  • Craft Knife
  • Small rolling pin
  • Card
  • Toothpick
  • Jewellery chain and joining rings.
  • Small pliers

My Cleo

Sunday, January 22, 2017

Hi Everyone!

I've finally made my Cleo Pinafore! So happy with it. I wanted a navy corduroy version for winter. And mum found this needlecord from the fabric warehouse she works at (Hansons in Sturminster Newton) - it was perfect.

Jersey Baby Leggings Take 2

Friday, January 20, 2017
Hi Everyone!

Yes I've made more baby things! Another gift for a friend who will be popping in June. I love making these tiny pieces of clothing so much.

Yes, I should have watched the pattern placement on these pieces. The leggings I thought weren't too bad, but this print was a little too large for the hat. This was my first baby hat attempt, so I thought I did ok. In future though I will think about the fabric more. Although I really like this modern style for baby things, I think a smaller print would work better.

If you missed the previous post on baby leggings you can read it HERE. I got the baby hat pattern from Shelly and Jennie at Coral & Co. They had the simplest pattern with various sizes. I will be making more for my friends but promise not to share them every time!

Happy Handmade!

Behind the Scenes - How I make my printed cards

Tuesday, January 17, 2017
Hello Everyone,

I wanted to do a little behind-the-scenes post today as it might be quite interesting for some of you. I have a printed card range and on the back it say 'from an original textile design' but what does that mean?

Many of you comment on how real the fabric looks, and always try and feel the layers, but there are none. I'm lucky to have an amazing local printer who makes sure my cards look as textured as they can be.

Things I want to make in 2017

Tuesday, January 10, 2017
If I put these things in a post I have no excuse to not do them!

Firstly I think I should mention the items I never finished making last year. As I really should finish those first before starting new projects.

I really need to finish my Cleo Pinafore Dress. I am going to be doing a Navy needlecord version. And then I'd like to make another one in pink denim for the summer.

Jersey Baby Leggings

Friday, January 6, 2017

So I thought on this late, and terribly cold, Friday evening I'd share these adorable baby leggings with you. I made them with this cute arrow print blue jersey from myfabrics.co.uk. They were a gift for my friend who just had a little boy (who's gorgeous by the way!)

DIY - Card Gift Tags

Tuesday, January 3, 2017

Don't throw your Christmas Cards into the recycle bin immediately, use them to make all your Christmas Tags for next year! I've done this for 3 years now. Not only are they a great way of recycling, but they create totally unique tags for your wrapped presents next year.

A New Year - Happy 2017

Sunday, January 1, 2017
Hello everyone,

I hope you're well. Did you have a lovely New Year's Eve? I did - maybe drank a little too much but hey I danced the night away.
I just wanted to take some time to reflect on 2016 and think ahead to the things I'm looking forward to this year.
