Scrap Pipit Lounge Shorts

Wednesday, August 18, 2021

Hi Everyone,

I hope you're all well. Have you been sewing much lately?

So if you follow us on Instagram (Sew Jessalli) you may have seen me sharing a photo of Mum's Sydney Dress on our story. It's made in our Black Stripe Linen Viscose. Mum had a small amount left so she gave it to me to maybe add to my linen scraps for another scrap busting project. BUT it was the exact amount I needed to make a pair of Pipit Loungewear Shorts!

I'm so pleased with how they turned out. They're so soft and comfortable, perfect for summer (when we get one!). And I can't believe they turned out to be such a great scrap-busting project. I know the Pipit Top is a little trickier to get out of a small amount of fabric, but that's mainly because of the facings and the wide sleeves. But worth a shot anyway. Or maybe make a patchwork version?

Well anyway I hope you enjoyed looking at a few photos which hopefully sent a little spark of inspiration your way. I definitely recommend the pattern though as it's a brilliant shape.

Happy Handmade!
