Life Updates.

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd sit down with a cuppa and fill you in on everything that's been going on at the moment. Not going to lie, I'm also doing it to help with my own clarity and sanity - it's been a whirl wind of events.

Firstly, I want to point out that in these photos I'm wearing another gorgeous 'mum-made' knitted jumper. This one is in a super soft, black wool which is incredibly cosy. So Thanks Mum!!

Right, so, we've moved out. Yup, the building work at our house has got a little overwhelming and we soon realised we wouldn't be able to wash (or wee for that matter) for a couple days here and there. As well as having to eat, sleep, chill and store all our furniture in one room. We decided as we have family really near by, we'd move out so we can relax.

On top of that I got a puppy, well an 11 month old rescue pup, Luna. She's a French Bulldog, stubborn, funny and slightly nuts. So training, house training and adjusting is also happening. I know I haven't made it easy on myself. And let me tell you she's not easy to train!

I'm currently working from my 'temp home' and trying to carry on as usual. It's a little tricky but so far it's ok. Once I've got a routine going, I think I'll be alright. Please just bare with me replying to messages, comments and uploading on social media. It's going a take me a little longer right now.

All I keep telling myself is, it'll all be worth it in the end. We'll have our dream house, I'll have a new studio and the puppy won't be pooing everywhere!

Well I feel a little more relaxed now. Thanks for letting me share my unexciting news with you.

Happy Handmade!

Cosy Toaster Sweater

Saturday, January 13, 2018

Hi Everyone,

So I'm back with another make for the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network. This time with the blogger staple; Sew House 7's Toaster Sweater. This is a pattern that has been seen on nearly everyone's blogs, but I was late to the hype, so am only just getting around to trying it out.

Things I want to make in 2018!

Saturday, January 6, 2018
Hi Everyone,

Hope you're recovering from the copious amounts of food you've all been consuming. I still seem to be in a food coma at the moment. And having boxes of chocolates around me doesn't help!

I wanted to do a sort of review post, reflecting on last years list of things I wanted to make and seeing if I achieved them. Things I have actually ticked off my list this year are:

  • Finishing my Cleo Pinafores and making a few more!
  • My Rosa Shirt Dress
  • Baby items - I've made so many!
  • More tops, I've made quite a few t-shirts and sweaters this year.

Things I STILL haven't made from that list:

  • Yoga Leggings. I think I have too many, so didn't think to make any more.
  • A sweater or hoody for my other half. I wanted his input and he didn't think he needed any at the time, so we never finalised any design ideas.
  • A bra. I never got round to making daintier items for myself. I'm actually a little disappointed I didn't make it a priority. But I'll re-add this to next years list.

Happy 2018 - My Highlights

Tuesday, January 2, 2018
Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! I hope you're all recovering from the Christmas 'slump' and had wonderful new year celebrations. So now comes the time for me to reflect on what I achieved in 2017. The ups, downs and also to see what I've got to look forward to in 2018!

My 2017 Best Nine on Instagram

I know I always say it, but I really do appreciate all of you. Whether you buy personalised items from my shop, read my blog, attend my workshops, watch my Youtube Videos or follow me on social media, It really does mean the world to me. You give me the option to have my dream job, and I am eternally grateful.

2017 was full of highlights for me. Teaching at the Handmade Fair in the Janome tent, at both the Spring and September Fairs, was a dream come true. And I'm excited to be doing it all again this coming year!
