We stayed in a lovely ladies house through Air BnB which you can book HERE. Annette was super lovely and she has many rooms you can stay in for a weekend break, or holiday. Her super friendly cat Freddie was also a highlight.
Her house is a beautiful victorian townhouse, with cosy rooms and a gorgeous modern kitchen and lounge area. I loved her style and all the vintage decor. It felt like we were staying with a long lost aunt, I would definitely go back. Plus she got me a balloon for my birthday- and I LOVE balloons!
Of course we went to the famous Lanes, and had to go to Choccywoccydoodah and see their amazing cakes! Sadly it was too busy for us to pop upstairs for an intense chocolate overdose, but next time we'll have to try their hot chocolate! The lanes are full of eclectic and eccentric shops, no two are the same. A bric a brac store might be right next door to a colourful painted vintage shop, or high end jewellers. It's a fantastic shopping location. I did get distracted by fabric shops and fabulous haberdasheries!
We walked for miles both days, and saw as much of Brighton as we could. From walking up and down the steep roads to the city to the Royal Pavilion, we pretty much saw everything. The Pavilion looks like the Taj Mahal, and is stunning. You can also walk around the pretty gardens there and the art gallery next door.
We were so lucky with the weather, but Sunday was hotter and brighter! So of course we spent most of our time walking along the beach, watching street artists and taking in the views from the pier!
Thank you to my beautiful sister for the best birthday weekend away. We laughed so much and now have a huge love for the city. If you've never been- go!
Happy Handmade!
