Meadow© Print Pleated Skirt

Saturday, August 6, 2016

Oooo another DIY! I'm on a roll with my 'get back into making clothes' mission! I wanted to make another piece from my printed fabrics, and as they're medium weight cottons, I need structural designs. The dungaree dress worked well with the pleated skirt, so I thought I'd make a longer version.

I calculated the pleats in the same way, using two pieces (front and back). I added an invisible zip in one side and a waistband - as before. I did however add a strip of folded yellow bias binding into the waistband seam for extra detail and to pick out the yellow a bit more in the pattern.

I really like the length of it. It's perfect for summery occasions. Would love to know what you think? Have you any ideas for clothing or other makes with my fabrics?

Happy Handmade!
