Happy 2018 - My Highlights

Tuesday, January 2, 2018
Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! I hope you're all recovering from the Christmas 'slump' and had wonderful new year celebrations. So now comes the time for me to reflect on what I achieved in 2017. The ups, downs and also to see what I've got to look forward to in 2018!

I know I always say it, but I really do appreciate all of you. Whether you buy personalised items from my shop, read my blog, attend my workshops, watch my Youtube Videos or follow me on social media, It really does mean the world to me. You give me the option to have my dream job, and I am eternally grateful.

2017 was full of highlights for me. Teaching at the Handmade Fair in the Janome tent, at both the Spring and September Fairs, was a dream come true. And I'm excited to be doing it all again this coming year!

I've been filming again with the team at Silverline Tools. I always enjoy spending the day with them, and getting super creative. Talking of filming, another year highlight has been launching my Youtube channel again. Bringing out regular content every week has been both a challenge and a creative blessing. But thank you to those of you who have been watching, subscribing and commenting. Its been so much fun and I cannot wait to bring out more content for you.

We're well underway with our house extension. The main building works should be nearing a close by the end of January. So my new studio will be a reality hopefully by mid February. It's full steam ahead with all things new in the house, everything is back in boxes and stacked into piles in corners of rooms. But it'll all be worth it in the end!

We've had loads of fun trips in 2017. I was lucky enough to be able to go to LA, we had a camper van trip to the Isle of Mull with friends, then we also did a huge three week Europe trip in the van too. This year has been full of travel and seeing places I've never been to. It has been wonderful and totally inspiring. After all the travelling we did this year, we actually have no holiday plans for 2018. I'm sure we'll organise some van trips in the near future, but we'll wait until the building work is all done first.

My aims for this year are to bring you more content, both on the blog and on my youtube channel. I want to challenge myself with my dressmaking, creating more varied clothing items and sharing my experiences. I also want to do more teaching and tutoring, so I can share my expanding sewing knowledge. I have many targets to reach in a few aspects of my business, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of achieving them. I'm hoping that after a great year, this next one will be just as good, if not better.

Remember to have an amazing 2018, do things you love, laugh often and create.

Happy New Year to you all and Happy Handmade!
