The Marlo Cardigan

Tuesday, June 22, 2021

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share my two Marlo Cardigans with you all. I've been wearing them so much lately. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen me wearing them both a lot. The Pattern is by True Bias. It's only pdf at the moment but you can buy it HERE.

So the first one I made was this Grey Sweatshirt Cropped version. The Sweat-shirting was actually from my stash but I bought some for the shop as a few people wanted to make a similar version (Shop HERE). I teamed it with our ribbed grey ribbing - that's a mouthful - which worked so well (Shop Ribbing HERE). And I had the grey buttons in my stash too WIN WIN! So for me, a true stash buster here.

The second Marlo I made was this Black version. I made it in our super soft Knitted Jersey (Shop HERE). I cannot tell you how cosy this is, it obviously falls a little differently, but I actually wanted a slightly oversized cardigan. So I sized up 2 sizes, lengthened the cropped length by 2" and then used the slouchy jersey. And I'm so happy with the size and fit. Button wise I fell in love with these Ocean Leopard Buttons from Pigeon Wishes which we now sell in the shop (Shop HERE). I knew they would be perfect and they ticked all the boxes when I added them on.

I've worn both cardigans so much and I'm so happy I added them to my wardrobe. The Black version has been such an easy item to wear from day to night. And the grey version has become my 'throw on instead of a jumper' cardigan haha. I love them both so much but I do think I love the Black one ever so slightly more. I think it may be those gorgeous buttons!

I hope I've inspired you to try this pattern and maybe check your stash for some suitable fabrics. And if you can't find any, you know where we are haha. Hope you're all well.

Happy Handmade!
