Melilot Shirt by Deer and Doe

Saturday, September 9, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. With The Handmade fair being less than a week away, it's all work and no play in the studio at the moment!

I wanted to come on here and show you my latest 'me made' item. For my Minerva Crafts Post this month I decided to make the Melilot Shirt from Deer and Doe patterns. It's a wonderful style and I'm so happy with it.

You can read my post on the blogger network HERE. The post will also link to the fabric I used, which in my opinion is just amazing! I mean, who doesn't love a geometric print?

I did make a few mistakes on this make. I struggled with perfect finishing on the collar stand, which sadly sticks out a little where the button is. But I think the flower button is cute enough to distract away from it. Haha!

Overall, the pattern is a great one, the hemline is gorgeous, and I'll definitely be making more. Even if it's just to nail that collar! Have any of you made this shirt? Comment below if you have any advice for my next one.

Happy Handmade!
