Wedding Guest Outfit II

Hi Everyone!

Happy weekend! It was my cousins wedding yesterday, and it truly was a magical day for the sweetest couple. I thought I'd share with you what I wore, as guess what? It was handmade by me.

So you may have seen me talking about the fabric I bought in THIS video on my channel. I got this incredible bright orange jersey, and navy paint splash jersey from myfabrics.co.uk. I also had a Vogue V9197 dress pattern mentioned in my March favourites. So putting the two together I made a super comfy, super bright dress!

Firstly the pattern initially came up quite big. The mixture of having American sizing and super stretchy fabric meant the bodice looked quite baggy on me. I ended up taking an extra 2 inches from each side seam to make it fit me. So if you do use this pattern, make sure you cut your size and then expect it to be taken in further. Because of all the adjustments I made, the bust darts became quite short, but as the jersey was so stretchy it didn't matter.

This has to be my favourite dress I've made to date. I spent so long playing with colour and fabric options, and I'm just so happy with my choices. Plus it's so comfortable to wear, the skirt is super flowy and not to sound arrogant but I think it really suits me!

The only tricky bit was making the long zip look neat between both stretchy fabrics. I have caught it a couple times, but hopefully it's not too noticeable. Oh and lastly this dress has pockets! My favourite addition to any item of clothing.

I hope you like what I've made. I would definitely use this pattern again. And have enough jersey fabric left over for an Agnes top or something.

Happy Handmade!
