Japanese Embroidered Jacket

Hi Everyone,

I found this image on Pinterest and have had it pinned for weeks. I love Japanese style embroidery, it's so detailed, yet so simplistic. The use of one colour with a symmetrical pattern is just so beautiful. And I actually love this white on navy variation.


I saw this style of embroidery on a lot of quilts online which are stunning, but I wanted to see how I can tailor it to work with clothing. So with this in mind, and a plain navy bomber jacket in my wardrobe, it was time to blend the two into this DIY. 



There was a few wonky or overlapping stitches, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It was worth all the hours I spent doing it!
