The Handmade Fair Highlights

Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Hi Everyone,

So I thought I'd finally write my Handmade Fair highlights. It's been almost a month since the fair, and I am still so happy thinking about how many of you came to my workshops or found me to say hi!

I hosted two workshops a day in one of the Janome tents. The first being an elasticated skirt. The second was a fun hair bow. I was lucky to have all the fabrics provided by the amazing Lisa Comfort. So everyone who attended got to use her beautiful floral prints.

It was so lovely to see so many of you excited to sew. A few attendees were total beginners, and I love seeing the biggest smiles when they complete their own handmade items from scratch.

Look at how amazing everyone looks! Just fantastic. You all produced amazing skirts, amazing bows, some of you even made both! I'm just still so happy to see all these photos of you all and your makes.

I got to be in the next-door tent to one of my favourite people in the whole world. Stacey Chapman. The smiley legend she is. Here she is doing what she does best, inspiring a new wave of textile artists.

I had such a fun weekend with all my favourite people. A huge thank you again to Mum for holding the fort on the stand everyday for the hours I was teaching. Thank you to all my crafty friends and to the Janome team for making our workshops possible! Bring on next years fair.

Thank you again to everyone who came to my workshops, bought from our stand or just came and said hi! We had a fabulous show.

Happy Handmade!
