My Briar Tees

Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd show you my freshly made Briar Tees (From Megan Nielsen). I love this pattern so much, but there were a few things I found that I want to share.

Firstly I made the cropped 'curved upward' hem version in the white cross jersey (from myfabrics.co.uk). Its really short! In the pictures below I'm wearing high waisted shorts and I still felt a little 'on show'. Don't get me wrong I love the design but I think I'd feel more comfortable with something on underneath or really high waisted trousers.

So next I used this pink sparkly stretch knit (also from myfabrics.co.uk) to make a cropped version again, but I traced the downward curve on the front as well. I much prefer this design and shape.

Annoyed by the fact the top caught on my trousers in the breeze!!!

I also found with the thinner fabrics I used, the stretch wasn't perfect enough for it to look neat when sewn. The bottom hem on the pink version wrinkled a bit. And the neck band on the white version didn't sit flat. It's nothing major, but it would be nicer in a thicker knit I think.

I've done a full pattern review on my Youtube channel which you can watch HERE.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the results of my making. If you have anything to add let me know in the comments below. Maybe you have another hack that you think I should try? Or advice on the neckband? Good luck making your Briar Tees.

Happy Handmade!
