Another Ogden...

 Hi Everyone,

Yes, I know, I know I need to find another pattern which uses 1 metre of fabric haha. But I love the Ogden Cami pattern so much and thought I'd do another Hack. This time I added a little gathered skirt to the bottom of it and added some extra straps to create a different look at the back neckline.

I did shorten the bodice by about 3 inches before adding the gathered skirt. I love the shape and volume it creates. It's definitely a great summer piece, even though I made this in February! I know I'll get a lot of wear out of it this summer.

The hardest part was the extra straps. getting them at the right length was harder than I initially thought and I tried it on about 5 times before I was happy with how they would lie. Worth the effort though as I think the extra details make all the difference.

This top all started with the fabric. This floral print viscose which the lovely Abi from Crafty Pinup Shop designed and had made. When she shared her prints on instagram last year and release them for pre order I jumped at the chance to order some. It's just so pretty.

She only did short runs of each colourway and all were manufactured in the UK, so it was a win win for supporting small businesses all round. Once I got the fabric it sat on my sewing table for far too long. I only had a metre and knew it had to be something pretty, floaty and super wearable. And then the idea for this hack came about.

I'm so happy with how it turned out. If you have the Ogden Cami Pattern, why not experiment with a few changes. It means you get so much wear out of one pattern. I hope I've inspired you, no matter how small.

Happy Handmade!
