The Handmade Fair | Ragley

Wednesday, May 16, 2018

Hi Everyone!

So I'm still beaming from my weekend away in Warwickshire. I was lucky enough to work with my favourites again and Janome at The Handmade Fair, Ragley Hall. This is only the second year the fair has been at Ragley Hall and my gosh, the turn out is fantastic!

Please don't let the picture of the famous wicker bear fool you, it was an extremely sunny weekend! I brought a few handmade outfit options, and made sure I saved my warmest (Mila Dungarees and a Peak T-shirt) for the Sunday as the forecast was windy, overcast and cold. But guess what? Sunday was the hottest day of all! You can never plan for these things.

So I worked again in the wonderful Janome tent and followed my favourite fellow sewist and teacher Stacey Chapman from Art Sea Craft Sea. We always love a good catch up and sewing chat. Plus Stacey's energy gets me so excited before my workshops, I need a bottle of it!!

So this year my class involved making a cute summery Applique Daisy Cushion. Mum and I had a lot of fun in the run up to the fair cutting out 240 white petals!! But it was all worth it as I think you'll agree everyone's cushions look fantastic.

Because I'm such a meany, I forced all my wonderful sewers to have their photos taken with their creations. And don't they all look happy. I love capturing that moment of achievement. Especially those students who's first time on the sewing machine it was.

Take me back! Haha. Thank you to the wonderful Jayne from Janome for once again being the calm, knowledgable, organised angel she is. Doing these fast moving workshops can be a little stressful, but Jayne always makes it so easy. And I'm truly grateful for that.

Stacey, Jayne and I having a little selfie fun!

Thank you to all the sewers who came to my workshops. You were all so happy, creative and full of enthusiasm. I had such a great weekend with you all. And I hope you enjoyed the workshops as much as I did. Plus I hope you're super proud of what you all made.

Lastly thank you to the amazing Handmade Fair Team. Congratulations on another great show. Only a few weeks to go until Bowood! Make sure you book your tickets to the Bowood and Hampton Court Fairs HERE. At Bowood I'll be in the Janome Tent again making Fabric Baskets and a Beginners Dressmaking Sampler. Book your places on my workshop when you book online.

See you all there. Happy Handmade!
